Dirt Cheap Compost at ClimateCon 2024!

Dirt Cheap Compost at ClimateCon 2024!

Dirt Cheap Compost was proud to participate on a composting panel at ClimateCon 2024, hosted at Colorado State University!

Our co-founder Madison spoke about the importance of community action and small-scale local services like Dirt Cheap Compost. Because composting isn't extremely profitable (even at scale), small community services like DCC create the connective tissue for our neighbors who want to compost their food waste, but who don't have the space or know-how to do so.

The panel went over how communities can take action on composting, one of the most impactful things we can all do to turn back climate change. Whether operating as an individual, a neighborhood, or an entire town, the pledge taken by the crowd was "I will compost the living $%&@ out of everything I can!"

DCC is proud to be a small but binding part of the Arvada, Lakewood, and Wheat Ridge composting ecosystems. We continue to expand our coverage to surrounding neighborhoods, and our neighbors' support of our local project has made the workload feel light and fun.

We hope to see you at the next climate community event! Say hey if you see us in our crayon-drawn shirts.
